PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a natural treatment that uses the healing power of your own blood platelets to refresh your skin and encourage hair growth, delivering smoother, more youthful skin and thicker, fuller hair.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a treatment that uses a concentration of the patient’s own platelets to accelerate healing and tissue regeneration. Platelets are rich in growth factors, which stimulate collagen production and tissue repair when injected back into the body.
Areas PRP Can Treat
• Scalp: Commonly used for hair restoration, PRP stimulates hair follicles, promoting thicker and healthier hair in areas experiencing thinning or hair loss.
• Face: PRP revitalises skin by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and improving overall texture, creating a youthful, glowing appearance.
• Under-Eye Area: Targets dark circles, fine lines, and sagging, helping to brighten and firm this delicate area.
• Neck and Décolletage: Improves skin laxity, reduces crepiness, and enhances firmness, giving a more youthful appearance to the neck and chest.
• Hands: PRP smooths and rejuvenates aging skin, reducing fine lines and improving skin texture on the hands.
The effects of PRP can last from several months to over a year, depending on the area treated, the patient’s skin type, and how well they care for their skin. Many clients see optimal results with a series of treatments and regular maintenance.
For initial treatment and optimal results:
Maintenance treatments
PRP is generally safe, as it uses the patient’s own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or infections. However, as with any procedure, there are minor risks, such as bruising, swelling, or infection at the injection site.
PRP may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, such as blood disorders, cancer, active infections, or autoimmune diseases. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and those on blood thinners should also avoid PRP.
Downtime is minimal, with most people experiencing some redness, swelling, or mild bruising that resolves within 1-3 days. Makeup and normal activities can typically resume the following day.
1. A small amount of blood is drawn, similar to a blood test.
2. The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets.
3. The PRP is then injected back into targeted areas of the skin or scalp.
Note:
PRP stimulates collagen production and hair regrowth therefore results will appear gradually as the skin rejuvenates or hair thickens naturally.
