Dermal Fillers

There are several types of dermal fillers out there.

The injectable dermal fillers used at FaceLift Clinic contain a naturally occurring substance (H*A*) which can be found in our skin and connective tissues. This substance plays an important role in maintaining skin moisture, skin elasticity, and the reduction of fine lines.

Dermal fillers are soft gel substances designed to be injected beneath the skin surface. 

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical option to altering the face shape. It is a more affordable and convenient way to give yourself a mini facelift when you compare it to surgery.

When dermal fillers are placed correctly, it can help with:

• Improving facial structure and support
• Facial contouring and balancing.
• Softening of fine lines, deep wrinkles and folds.
• Restoring lost volume
• Rejuvenation
• Enhancing and defining features
• Creating a facial lift
• Minimizing some indented scar tissue 

Dermal fillers can be placed almost anywhere under the skin.

• Jaw sculpting and enhancement 
• Tear throughs

HA dermal fillers are not permanent and will dissolve naturally in your body. It is estimated that these fillers last 6-12 months before a top up is needed. Depending on which area is being treated and your metabolism, filler may dissolve sooner or later. 

By pairing your dermal filler with wrinkle relaxing injections, you can prolong the longevity of your filler even more. Other factors that may affect the longevity of your fillers are:

• How physically active you are 
• How much heat you expose it to
• How often the area gets massaged
• How active the muscles around it are

As with all procedures, there will be possible risks and side effects.

Dermal filler injections are a low risk treatment with minimal side effects.

These risks may include but are not limited to:

• Local swelling 
• Redness
• Bruising
• Lumpiness or irregularity of the filler
• Pain or discomfort
• Asymmetry
• Unsatisfied results. 
• Infection
• Triggering of cold sores (If you have a history of it)

Very rare complications include:

• Allergic Reactions
• Damage to vascular structures
• Vascular occlusion
• Blindness

Minimal downtime.

You can resume work and normal activities after the procedure.

However, there are certain activities you should avoid to help reduce the side effects of the treatment.
